Speakers include Tomi Oladipo – BBC Africa’s security correspondent, Padraig Carmody – author of ‘The New Scramble for Africa’, Betty Makoni – a Zimbabwean gender activist who founded a charity focusing on Zimbabwe’s young sex abuse victims, Rainatou Sow – a Guinean woman who founded ‘Make Every Woman Count’; and many more.

Alongside the conference, we will be hosting an African market featuring flavours and craft from the continent. From contemporary African art to various delicacies, the marketplace will include jewellery, arts, crafts and food; sharing the vibrancy and diversity of African culture with conference attendees and the university.
